The Collage project

Shattered Innocence
Piece Description
Everyone’s innocence eventually shatters. Childhood is warm and sweet as everything needed is provided. But when the harsh realities such as war and death are exposed, it teaches us various life lessons. This collage piece acts as a portal to the viewer’s experience when their innocence was lost. I want the audience to remember their youth and innocence, to relive the overwhelming sensation that changed them.
Using various magazines, I had cut out images and articles that interested me. In the process, I noticed an image of war and a girl. Through combining the two contrasting images, I wanted to create a new meaning, shattered innocence.
